LDC1000EVM: Output Data Rate EVM

Hi Andre,

The conversion interval is a function of the programmed response time and the sensor frequency. Using a lower value for the response time and a higher sensor frequency will increase the conversion rate. Note that with lower Response Time settings, the effective resolution will decrease.

To change the response time, make sure the device goes into Standby mode (sleep mode) before you change any settings.

Finally, consider the LDC1101 - it is superior in many ways; the LDC1000 should only be used if you must use 5V, need Automotive, or need to go below 500KHz for the sensor frequency.

Hi Chris,

thanks for the fast response. Okay, I changed the configuration and I note a decrease of the resolution from the L Measurement, but no faster output Rate of the EVM. Maybe the Firmware is limitating the EVM Data Rate?

Next I set the Response Time low and I noted that the Rp Signal is more noisy, is that normal?

Additionally I changed the Clock Frequency from 6MHz to 8 MHz to change the resolution of the L Measurement. I saw, that the measured Sensor Frequenz changed from 1MHz to 1,3 MHz. Why ist the Frequency changed, although I did not change the L C - Tank?

Yes, there is another factor at play - there is a limit on the data transfer rate the USB connection supports; it is possible you can hit this with sample rates above ~3ksps.

The GUI defaults to 6MHz for the reference frequency; change it to 8MHz on the configuration tab:
