Hi,

TMP116 temperature reaction rate

Now we have found a problem with the evaluation of TMP116.
It takes time until the target measurement temperature is output from the TMP116.
The evaluation environment uses TMP116EVM.
(TMP116 parts and MSP430 parts are not separated)

Evaluation Measurement procedure
Step 1. Keep constant temperature chamber at 80℃.
    Measure the temperature by placing the evaluation board from the room (25℃) into the thermostatic chamber.
Step 2. Evaluate the time to reach 25℃ ⇒ 72℃ (90%).

The measurement result is
Approximately 50sec to reach 90% of target temperature.

Data Sheet (SBOS740) page35 When referring to Figure45, it is about 3sec (90%).
The reaction speed is about x16 times slower than the reaction time of the data sheet.

What is the cause of this problem?

    When I performed the thermal response for the figure 45, the TMP116EVM was separated on the perforation. I soldered a very thin 40 AWG thicknes wires onto the board of the TMP116 device, and attached to wooden stick.

    As I mentioned, different setup could have different result of the thermal response. Please refer to the apps note here on how the setup was conducted.
