TMP435: Is THERM# turn low when Low limit is reach?

Part Number: TMP435

The default temperature limit of TMP435 is 0x55/0x00, after power up;

My question is if system power up at 0'C, shall there is THREM# low be generated?

BR.

  • Hi Bin,
    As explained in page 14 of the data sheet:
    The power-on/ reset value of the THERM limit register is 55h (+85°C in standard temperature mode; +21°C in extended temperature mode) this is the high limit for temp. The Low limit is defined by the Alert Limit Hysteresis, which power-on/ reset value is 0Ah, +10°C in standard temperature mode and same for extended temperature mode. Please refer to page 19 of the data sheet for the explanation.
    Also Figure 20 of the data sheet illustrates this behavior.

    Regards,
    Jose
  • Sorry, I checked datasheet, but I'm not sure my question, if system power up at 0'C, shall there is chance for THREM# low be generated? for there is no register configured yet.
  • Hi Bin,

    If Temperature is below 0C at Power-On, after Local + Remote Conversion Time (15 + 126), the following occurs:
    Pin 8 ALERT/THERM2 will be asserted (pulled to 0V.) It will still this way until an SMBus Alert Response is performed.
    Pin 7 THERM will not be asserted.

    Thanks,
    Ren
