DRV5012: magnetic vendors list

Part Number: DRV5012
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-00480

dear colleagues,

one of my account would design new thermostat using our hall effect sensor solution. They identified drv5012 as good fit.

Customer questions list:

1) Do we have alternative to DRV5012 lower current consumption ? it is key criteria for my customer.

2) Can we get one board of TIDA-00480? if so let me know the procedure.

3) DEXTER magnetic is used on TIDA-00480. Do we have magnetic vendors list recommended for DRV50xx ?

thanks

Paul

  • Hello Paul,

Below are my responses to your questions:

    1. The DRV50512 is the lowest power digital latch that we have at this time.

    2. TI designs are typically not orderable, however, you can download the design files from the TIDA-00480 page and build the design yourself if you like. One thing to note is that last time we checked, DEXTER no longer recognizes the part number for the magnet in the design.

    3. We do not have specific recommended vendors for magnets, however in the Hall Effect Sensors Forum, there is a “Welcome to the Hall Effect sensor forum!” post (e2e.ti.com/.../355909) that has a list of “Various Magnet Suppliers” at the bottom which you may find useful.
