HDC1000: Humidity stays 100

Part Number: HDC1000
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2650STK, HDC2080, HDC2010

The sensortag was just bought a month ago.  CC2650STK.  The humidity sensor was working well before.  The whole part was always properly packed in the plastic case, with the rubber protector.  Today I suddenly found that the readings of the humidity sensor stay at 100, no matter what device is reading it (raspberry pi or iPhone App).  Does anyone have any idea about this?  I need this reading for a project next week.  Urgent.  Thanks!!

  • Hi Hui,

Your sensor has probably absorbed too much moisture. It should be stored in a sealed bag when not used. You can try to dry it out with warm, dry air, but it may not be accurate if it recovers. I recommend using one of our third generation humidity sensors HDC2010, HDC2080 instead.

    Thanks,
    Ren
