IWR1642BOOST: People tracking on larger area

Hi,

I want to track up to ten moving people on a pitch of dimensions 20x40m using one IWR1642BOOST device.

The PeopleCount Demo and its Configs only allow for up to 14m distance but the Short range radar demo should easily be able to handle tracking objects at this distance.

What demo and config file would you suppose to use for this problem and how would you adapt it to allow the reliable tracking of people at this larger distance?

Hi Robert,

Please see our 50m People Detection chirp (Case 5 in the linked page). This chirp should be used with the Traffic Monitoring demo available on TI-REX. You can see the results of our testing in a parking lot here.

When setting up the device, try to angle the EVM so that is is tilted down 2 -3 degrees. This orientation will give the best results, as the center of the beam will fall near 50m.
