Can you please elaborate how HDC1000 family can be used for fog and rain detection?

Also, Can HDC 2010 be used for this purpose?

Hello Sanika,

And welcome to the e2e forums. As specified in our datasheet, these humidity products are to be used in non-condensing environments. The accumulation of condensation of the humidity sensor will affect device performance, therefore it may be best to design the enclosure in such a way that this bias is removed.

I learned that HDC2010 includes an integrated heating element to prevent or remove any condensation that may build up in high humidity environments. If used with a suitable casing/enclosure, can HDC2010 deliver expected performance ?

Yes, if the guidelines are followed that are included in the technical documents listed, yes it should perform as guaranteed in the datasheet.
