I'm working to get the MMWave sensor (IWR9843+MMWAVEICBOOST) up and working. I'm using a Windows 10 PC. I've read through the SDK documentation but things don't work yet. I have a few questions:
1. the 2.1 5v power jack should be 4A of rated capacity? I've been using a 5v, 2A plug and the LED's light up.
2. Should I have two USB connections between the MMWAVEICBOOST board and my Windows 10 computer? I see two (mini) USB ports on the IC, "XDS110USB" and "FTDI_USB" - should they both be connected to the PC? The Chrome App talks about two serial connections. At present, I see USB 19 and 20.
3. Possibly related, the USB com ports (in device manager) lack the detail that is provided in the sdk documentation. Does this suggest that the configuration is wrong?
4. The Web App (mmWave Demo Visualizer) suggests that I should:
- Power up the mmWave Sensors and load/run the mmW Demo located at mmwave_sdk/_<ver>/packages/ti/demo/<platform>/mmw. Refer to the mmWave SDK user guide in the mmWave SDK package for more information.
When I look in this file path I see a bunch of source files but no executable. Is an executable hiding somewhere? Should I be compiling this project directory?
5. Finally, I'll be using this in a University teaching environment. Does TI have any safety information about the RF board? Eg, what is the total radiated power, what is the radiation pattern, etc?
I'd appreciate any comments - this feels like a configuration error that should be simple.
