DRV5013-Q1: Output BRP < B < BOP after Power On

Part Number: DRV5013-Q1

Dear, Sir.

My customer is considering to apply DRV5013-Q1 for their system, now.

On their system, There is a possibilty magnet would be stalled on magnetic field

BRP < B  < BOP position and power up.

Figure 15 and description shows  "indeterminate either Hi-Z or Low", so I

explained such to the customer.

However, They would like to know the kind of output tendency based on your

plentiful experience under this condition. Of cource, you don't need to assure that.

Please give your advice if you have.

Best Regards,

H. Sakai

  • Hello Sakai-san,

Unfortunately there's not a clear answer here. If BRP < B < BOP then the output truly is indeterminate. Also, BRP and BOP have a range of values as shown in the specs table. Below I give an example for DRV5013FA.

Because this range can be large, it's best that the customer designs the system so that B > BOPmax (3.4mT in this example) when on and B < BRPmin (-3.4mT in this example) while off to ensure reliable detection.

The design tool on the right side of every Hall sensor product folder is very useful for checking the functionality of a device for a given magnet and distance.
