FDC1004: FDC1004

Part Number: FDC1004

I have discovered that a number of different prototypes using the FDC1004 chip have the pins -- PIN1:SHLD1 and PIN2: CIN1 shorted.  These prototypes still perform their intended purpose but I need to know if I any long term damage is being done to the FDC1004 chip and will this mistake degraded the accuracy or reliability of these prototypes in the future requiring them to be returned.

Thank You
