Hello,

I have a customer using the MMWAVEICBOOST with an IWR6843ISK, and they are experiencing some heating on the carrier board. Customer reports temperatures of up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit after 5 minutes of operation. This is with just the ISK and not doing any kind of data capture.

The circled region in picture below is the region that's getting hot.

Is this normal behavior for the carrier card?

Hi Munan,

This is not normal behavior. Do you know which lab they were running? Have you confirmed they are using 5V, >3 A power supply?

Hi Akash,

Customer is using the power supply that came with their kit which is a 5V/ 3A supply, and this behavior happens regardless of which project is loaded on the board, although I know the customer has used the people counting and out of box examples in the past.

Customer has not made any modifications to the board since they received it.

We don't provide power supply with the kit, can you please double to ensure the power supply has the right spec?
