Dear Nirav -

Please describe the issue you are having in a bit more detail and why you need to upload any firmware to the EVM, it should have come pre-programmed. (if it did not, this would be good to know)

thanks for the prompt reply,

Initially when we bought the device it was working perfectly.

my colleague, accidentally uploaded the firmware HDC10x0 to the device.

and device was not giving the results that it was giving initially.

In order to rectify this issue, I contacted you guys and I tried all proposed things that can make it right.

I updated GUI version and found HDC20x0 firmware in it. but uploading the firmware is not successful as device remains disconnected once you start upload.

please let me know if you need additional info.

i just tried this exactly on an EVM and did not have the same experience. I loaded the incorrect firmware on the HDC20x0EVM and then saw it come back up after unplugging and re-plugging - then i updated back with HDC20x0 text file, got a success and then unplugged and replugged the EVM to reconnect to the GUI and use it.

did you double check your COM port settings? Should be 115200, 8N1

Josh,

I bought two modules. and both of them were designated to work on efferent computer.

I had tried this problematic module in the computer where the other EVM is perfectly working.

please review attached doc file which have USB device property.

I am not able to explore port settings.

on my PC this EVM enumerates in VCP mode, and shows up in device manager as COM Port, as a USB Serial Device.

can you try uninstalling whatever was loaded there and try to get driver reloaded, by then plugging it back in?

I did that Josh.

It gives the same result as I represented in last msg.

I tried installing EVM driver manually, but it gives code 10 error.

you are using the correct driver and you have admin privileges? See image below - this is from my PC

Yes I do have the right driver(from GUI directory), and I have administrator privileges.

i think at this point i would make sure the device works on another PC. If so, then uninstall the driver and the program, reboot the PC and start over - seems like a "Windows" issue and without being in front of the PC, i am not sure what other questions to ask - you can see the device now it seems as COM port, so you should be able to point it to the driver and or uninstall it and reinstall it - and make it work - and again, i am sorry that i am not there with you at the PC - but this is what I would try doing (above)

Its not working on another PC where I did fresh installation of GUI software.

anyway if you suspect this is a "Windows" issue, I would say I will have to scrap this module.

How come the other module work fine and this one does not? if its a problem with driver or com port or windows.

If there's anything else you want me to try let me know.

here, when EVM is not working like this - i would say either return for replacement through the disty you purchased from or you can send me email, and i can send you my address, so i can take a look at it - be glad to do either. Sorry for the hassle on this, i have not seen this issue with the EVMs yet.
