DRV5033: Hall sensing distance

Part Number: DRV5033

Hi,

The magnet has a conduction state close to the Hall.
Stay away from the Hall and have an open circuit.
Is this threshold value defined in the actual application?

thanks.

  • Dear Wu,

There is some great additional information on this concept found in the thread here. The distance range of the DRV5033 is determined by the strength of the magnetic field created by the magnetic source/magnet you use. The datasheet parameters you are looking for are the operation point (B_op) and release point (B_rp) of the part, as you can see in the below captures from the datasheet:

Once you have chosen your magnet, you can quickly generate the distances these occur using the magnetic field calculator tool found here. Please note that there are two versions of the device (FA and AJ), each with their own sensitivity, and these distances will change based on that selection.
