RTOS/AWR1642BOOST: Strange LED Behavior

After powering on my device, I observed only the 5V LED can power on:

Usually, the yellow NRST LED is also on and I am not sure why it isn't. I don't think I could've done anything to damage the board, plus the NERR_OUT LED is off. However, I am unable to configure the device or re-flash it. Have you seen this problem before? What are my best courses of action?

Hello Samuel,

If NRST LED is off, then this means that NRST is pulled low and the device is stuck in reset.

Has this board worked before? NRST should come up to 3.3V and the LED should illuminate, unless something was damaged or modified.

Yes, this board has worked before. Is it possible that the DCA1000 may have pulled it low and then kept the device in reset? At the time when I noticed the NRST LED was not glowing, the device was connected to a DCA1000. Is there any way that I could manually attempt to pull NRST high in order to restore the device to working order? I would prefer not to buy another device under the assumption that this one is damaged.

Hello Samuel,

You can connect an external power supply to R74 and drive it to 3.3V to pull it high manually.

You should first check that the PMIC is actually working and outputting 3.3V and also check that the supply isn't somehow being shorted to GND.

Hello Samuel,

You can download the schematic and assembly files from the AWR1642BOOST product page and then use these files to find the PMIC outputs on the EVM. Then you can probe the outputs with a multimeter to see if the four outputs are at the expected voltage.
