WEBENCH® Tools/NFC-DATALOGGER-EVM: -

Part Number: NFC-DATALOGGER-EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: RF430CL330H

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Back again! It has been a while, and the reason is that it took quite some time to get everything running, actually. Now, I think I've reset the board, since I get the following response when tapping the Datalogger:

Power was interrupted!
Time and Date have been reset.
Current state: Stopped

So, there is progress :-) Not much, but still.

The question now is: how do I get the datalogger up and running? Is there a way to do this with an Android device? Or do I need the MSP-FET?

Thanks in advance,

Kind regards,

Niels

Edit: this issue has nothing to do with 'WEBENCH® Tools', but I don't know how to get rid of it in my post. Sorry for that.

  • Niels -

I answered your direct email as well.

After programming the MSP430, you should be able to read the NDEF Message (which is a user menu of sorts) from the RF430CL330H with Android and maybe even iPhone now. (not sure what all NFC protocols they support as its been awhile since I was in that circle)  - The phone should power the device - you will need to leave the tag in the read field of the handset for it to operate correctly. This is a magnetic field technology, so coupling is key. Once you have it working, then if you install the battery and configure, then start it, it will log data which you can read out later over the same magnetic link.
