AWR1843: Can we support LVDS streaming in HWA input sharing buffer mode?

Hello champion,
Customer want to send ADC data via LVDS in AWR1843 while HWA works simultaneously. Since in current MRR demo, we use sharing buffer mode between ADC buffer and HWA local memory. Can we support LVDS streaming in this mode?

Hi Andy

The MRR uses the HWA configured in "ISOLATED MODE" (this is the terminology used in the SDK)

In this mode the LVDS streaming is not supported.

We will check with design team for more details and will get back to you

I tried to enable ADC data LVDS streaming in current MRR V0.9 version in shared buffer mode, and I can see LVDS do send data out to DCA1000.
Could you double check this point with design team?

Yes,

We checked with design team.

It is not possible to map the HWA input buffer to the ADC Buffer and at the same time perform LVDS transfers.

In the response above I mixed up the terminologies/ The MRR uses the HWA configured in SHARED MODE. This means that the ADC Buffer is directly mapped to HWA input buffer. In this mode it is not possible to perform LVDS transfers at the same time.

In order to perform LVDS transfers one must use the HWA in ISOLATED MODE

Please see mmWave SDK 3.2 for reference. It performs LVDS transfers with HWA configured in ISOLATED MODE.
