LM95234: measuring the internal temperature of three ADC12DJ3200 and single fault output for all channels

Hi TI,

Can I use LM95234 for measuring the internal temperature of three ADC12DJ3200 using three channels of LM95234.

Also we have limited number of pins left in FPGA for connecting the all TCRIT1,TCRIT2 and TCRIT3 to FPGA.

Can I use only TCRIT1 as fault output for all channels of LM95234 i.e. if any of the channels of LM95234 exceeds its set value, can FPGA be notified by TCRIT1 only for all channels.

Hi Lalit,

Yes, LM95234 can be used with the TDIODE pins of ADC12DJ3200. We also offer TMP423 and TMP464 which are suitable for 3 or 4 channels.

The TCRIT pins are open drain and can be tied together to perform logical OR known as wire-OR.

All of the TCRIT outputs can be individually configured for each temperature channel. See the mask registers 0x0C through 0x0E.

One thing I would like to know.

As LM95234 is an old part. Does TI has any plan to discontinue LM95234 ?

As we are using LM95234 in our design we hope TI is not planning to discontinue LM95234 in near future.
