AWR1843BOOST: Dynamically Reconfigurable Configuration (CFAR, etc) Parameters

Currently the mmWave SDK demo does not support dynamic reconfiguration.

That being said the sensor device supports a certain level of dynamic conifiguration

First in order to answer the question it is important to understand that in the mmWave SDK cli configuration there are two types of commands.

The first type is related to the sensor RF configuration and the second type is related to the processing chain configuration.

The Range FFT, Doppler FFT sizes are examples of RF configuration commands. They dependent on the number of ADC samples and number of chirps respectively. So changing these values would require a reconfiguration of the sensor RF.

Regarding the RF configuration, dynamic reconfiguration is possible for some of the configuration parameters.

Regarding the processing chain configuration, for example CFAR is a parameter that has no dependence on sensor RF configuration. Theoretically it is possible to change this parameter for every frame.

Thanks for your response. If I understand you correctly, I should be able to borrow some of the ROS service functionality from mmWaveQuickConfig.cpp (used to send the CLI configuration commands to the board on startup) to create a ROS node that monitors the /mmWaveDataHdl/RScan topic and updates a processing chain configuration parameter like the range and Doppler CFAR values?
