LDC1614-Q1: Data read at multi-channel mode behavior

Part Number: LDC1614-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LDC1614

Hi team,

I have a question about the DATAx read behavior at multi-channel mode.

When in multi-channel mode, does LDC1614 keeps the value in DATAx register unless the user read out the data?

I am trying to read out the DATAx in a certain interval which is slower than the data capture interval.

If my DATAx read interval is 20ms and the sampling interval is 5ms, I most likely reading the DATAx value which is not the latest measurement?

regards,

  • Hello Tsuji-San,

You are absolutely right. If you like to read Datax register faster than the sampling rate then the I2C throughput needs to higher than the sampling rate. The I2C support 400 Khz clock rate.

It would be good to check to see if the Datax register is changing as fast as setting of the sampling interval. In general slower conversion time will benefit in providing higher resolution.

For more information on setting conversion rate and reading data from Datax register please refer to section 8.1.4 in the LDC1614 datasheet.

  • Hi Arjun,

Thank you for your prompt response.

    I understand the behavior.

I was referring to the Automotive version of the datasheet and 8.1.xxx section is missing in this version of the datasheet.

It would be nice to have this session in Automotive version too.

    regards,
