IWR1443BOOST: TIDEP-0091 : Board Reset Issue

Part Number: IWR1443BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDEP-0091, IWR1443

Hello,

We need the solution of ‘Reset’ after combine two boards even if each board operates correctly.

To conduct TIDEP-0091, we tested after combining IWR1443BOOST and MSP432 BOOST EVM.

R9, R102, R164 of IWR1443BOOST are added 0 ohms and connected the wire between J6-7 & SW2.

Level_sense_demo.bin was flashed on each IWR1443 Additionally MSP_Level_sesne_demo.out was flashed on MSP432 Boost EVM.

The performing of boards reset infinitely after conducting above procedure and then combining two boards.

Above photo is for carrying out above procedure and then combining two boards.

The marks are the points of adding 0 ohm on each R9, R102 and R164.

We have been checking that IWR1443 Boost board got no issue after checking the individual performance of mmWave Demo Visualizer of IWR1443 Boost independently.

We got the communication signal while operating MSP432 boost EVM board independently without IWR1443 board.

However, the results of combined two boards are only “Reset” like No-communication each other even if individual each board is good to operate independently when separating.

We checked the results of ‘Reset’ through oscilloscope on P4.5(PGOOD) and P4.7(PMIC_EN) after combine two boards.

We need solution for this issue.

  • Hi Jihun,

    Thank you for posting this.

The TIDEP-0091 Getting Started Guide was illustrated on a different board revision and it appears you are using a newer one.

The issue may stem from a diode that was removed between AR_NRST_MCU and AR_ NRST. I believe this means you need to either remove the R2 resistor to AR_NRST_MCU on J6 or just remove the wire you installed connecting SW2 to J6-7.

Would you be able to try this? Let us know if this doesn't work for you.

    Cheers,

    Akash
