TMP100: TMP100 faulty - no response on I²C

Part Number: TMP100

In series production and in the field, the components cannot be addressed via I²C or can no longer be addressed. After replacing the component, the application works perfectly. The components are soldered onto a metal core circuit board to monitor LED temperatures. The metal core is completely isolated from the rest of the circuit. We cannot currently make out any processing errors on our part.

I can actually rule out ESD. Our entire production is an ESD-protected area and the employee's PPE is checked daily before the start of work.

Up to now we tested 2100 devices witch use the TMP100NA/3K in similar applications but with the same schematic. They were OK. At 62 devices the TMP10NA/3K is faulty and gives no response at I²C. We tested the device in our Application and with an USB/I²C converter. So we can say that there is no problem in our application.

What can we do else?
