AWR1243: The cascade radar works in MIMO mode, and the detection range is too short when using serial output

I tried to add data output such as target distance by serial port into the AlgorithmFxn_RadarDspAoaProcess() function of radardspcascademimoaoa_priv.c:

The parameters I used are as follows:

However, in this case, the angular reflector can only be stably detected within 20 meters, and can hardly be detected after 30 meters:

Is there something I didn't do right? What should I do to solve this problem?

Hi,

Any feedback from the radar experts?

I discovered a new situation today.

If I only transmit data through the serial port, the radar can't detect the Angle reflector at 40 meters:

But if I transmit data through both the serial port and Ethernet, the serial port can detect the Angle reflector at 40 meters::

Why does the Ethernet transmission have such an impact?

Can I use email to communicate with radar expert?

Hi JG,

I am not clear about what you meant by transmitting data thru serial port?

Are you referring to serial port for debug print showing on terminal?

JG,

Serial port print out and Ethernet output should ideally have no impact on the actual detection. Can you please play with the CFAR paramters to make your detections better?
