AWR2243BOOST: Role of TM4C1294

Dear Texas-Support,

Does the AWR2243 Boost eval board have an onboard MCU/DSP to process the raw data? Or does it only consider providing the Raw ADC values via the LVDS interface.

In the schematic we can see that TM4C1294 is present, but unfortunately there is no connection between the CSI-2(LVDS) output from AWR2243 and TM4C1294.

Does the Eval board have an interface similar to the one above, with AWR1243 replaced with AWR2243 and TDA3x with TM4C1294?

Hello Prasanna,

AWR2243BOOST is similar to AWR1243BOOST which has only RF device (AWR1243/AWR2243), no DSP/MCU to process the raw data.

TP4C1294 devices is used as XDS110 : RS232(UART) and JTAG interface to the AWR device.

To process the data you need to capture it first using DCA1000 (over LVDS) or using TDA2/3x (over CSI-2) and further process it outside of AWR2243BOOST board.

Thanks for the rapid response. Is there any reference designs for using AWR2243 with TDA2/3x(over CSI-2)?

Are there any demo ADAS applications available for TDA2/3x, that processes the raw data received from AWR x243?

What is the role of CAN interface provided in the AWR2243Boost board.

Hello Prasanna,

You can refer to the processor SDK (https://training.ti.com/introduction-processor-sdk-radar-part-1-3) which has sample code to process the radar data on TDA platforms.

CAN interface is not used with AWR2243 device. Since we are reusing the same PCB for 1443 device, the CAN interface is relevant for 1443.
