TDC1000-C2000EVM: Increasing the number of channels in EVM.

Part Number: TDC1000-C2000EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMUX1104, SN74CBT3253C, TS5N214

Hi ,

I want to increase the number of receiving channels by using a external multiplexer. For this I have selected the following multiplexer. Is this multiplexer is suitable for this purpose.

  • Hi Samith,

I am unable to access the hyperlink. Can you provide the multiplexer part number instead?

You'll want to ensure the multiplexer you select has a low ON-state resistance (Ron < 1 Ω). You can refer to TI's TS5Ax switch/multiplex series for examples. Otherwise, a large on-state resistance resistance between the receiving ultrasonic transducer and the input to the analog front end will increase the noise floor.

  • Hi,

    Thank you for your reply.

After your suggestion i selected above multiplexers with a low resistance. Is this mux suitable for it? and could please you recommend one?

Is there any other method to increase the number of channels. I need to 3 receiving channels.

    Thank you

  • Hi Samith,

Your listed multiplexer options are all feasible. Using a multiplexer is my recommended option for expanding up to 3 receiving channels.
