TMP102-Q1: TMP102-Q1

Part Number: TMP102-Q1

We’re starting verification that all semiconductor components TMP102-Q1 have ISO 26262 according to attached GS95033-1.

Please review and confirm for below parts.

Thanks

Evgeny

  • Dear Evgeny -

there was no attachment, would you please try again to re-attach?

and to be clear, you are requesting some information about functional safety (on our temp sensor)?

  • hello,

i need information about functional safety.

    Thanks

  • @Evgeny

Thank you so much for the request! The TMP102-Q1 as well as other temperature sensors in our portfolio are often used in systems that require functional stafety. The ISO26262 functional safety spec is a system level spec that requires analysis in a functional use-case. Temperature sensors like the TMP102-Q1 are single function devices. In order to help our customers to use our devices in these types of applications we do provide failure-in-time (FIT) information for all products, which you can find here. Is this what you were looking for regarding the TMP102-Q1?

Additionally, we are working to make functional safety analysis even simpler for yourself and other customers by rolling out further documentation and processes across products. The TI functional safety page describes device categories as they relate to this sort of qualification. Several of our analog sensors are already included as functional safety-capable, meaning they are on a quality managed development process and have a fit rate as well as failure-mode distribution (FMD) report available on the product pages. We are continuing to expand this device list over time. You will also find many devices on this page that are on a specialized development process and offer even more documents to help support your development, but we find this is not often required for single function temperature sensors to be included in systems requiring the ISO26262 qualification.

    Regards,

    Will
