There is a Reference Design for the (Design Guide: TIDEP-01000 People Tracking and Counting Reference Design Using mmWave Radar Sensor)

Is there a reference design that uses the IWR6843ISK? (if we do not want to change the layout of the Radar Front End, and just want to output the point cloud data to a separate MCU)

Is it possible to use the IWR6843ISK to output directly via Serial to a computer such as the Raspberry Pi or over SPI to a MCU, to enable use without the MMWAVEICBOOST carrier card?

Hi Ming,

Yes, you should be able to connect IWR6843ISK Rev C UART to Raspberry Pi. For SPI w/o MMWAVEICBOOST you will need break-out board to get SPI on 60 pin connector J1/J6. Please refer to section 3.5 https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/swru546c/swru546c.pdf for more details.

For older EVM you will need break-out board for both UART and SPI.
