AWR1843: CQ data abnormal

Hi Team,

SDK version 3.1.1.2

Since the current version does not support CLI related commands of CQ, the customer added the following configuration in the demo program:

SigImg Monitoring config

And call rlRfAnaMonConfig to enable RX_SIG_IMG_BAND_MONITORING.

Other parameters are configured as follows:

adcCfg 2 2
adcbufCfg -1 0 1 1 1
profileCfg 0 76 7.68 6 47 0 0 20.75 1 512 12500 2 0 116

He changed the chrip slope from 20.75Mhz/us to 10.75Mhz/us and observed the following phenomena:

20.75Mhz/us

10.75Mhz/us

The value of the signal band is significantly reduced (actual value = -0.5 * measured value), and some values are lower than the image band.

Customer could like to know when the chrip slope is low, are there other ways to increase the detection energy of the signal band?

Hello Annie,

What about in normal configuration (default slope in profileConfig)?

mmwavelink test application configures CQ data, Could you try same experiment at your end to check with default configuration and then with customer configuration?

Hi Jitendra,

At the beginning, the customer used mmWave_Demo_Visualizer 3.4.0 to generate a profile configuration file suitable for SDK 3.1. The configuration is normal. When the chrip slope is lower than 15, then it goes down, the energy of the signal band in CQ starts to decrease.

This observation is seen only when slope is lower than 15 or in other scenario?

And what is environment for this experiment? lab or field?

Hi Jitendra,

Yes, This observation is seen only when slope is lower than 15.

This was tested in an office environment.

In addition, when the value of the signal band is normal (the slope is greater than 15), the value of the signal band can also be observed to decrease when the antenna transmitting surface is covered with an object.

Hello Annie,

CQ data depends on the in-band energy. Changing any parameter in the chirp-design (i.e. the slope) can change the in-band energy. So the observation is not anomalous.
