TMP116EVM: Incorrect I2C Slave ID address

Part Number: TMP116EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMP116, TMP117EVM

I plug the TMP116EVM and I get the error: Incorrect I2C Slave ID address. I've been using the board quite often and now I receive this message and cannot use it. If I un-click the Demo Mode, it just keeps popping up the same error, and then it shuts down. How to solve it??

Thanks

  • Maria,

It should not shut down. You need to uncheck the box 'Demo Mode' in the top right corner to be able to connect to hardware. If you are getting this message when unchecking that box, you may have changed those resistors that are mentioned on the hardware or damaged the TMP116 device somehow.

You can also use the TMP117EVM GUI with your TMP116EVM hardware. That GUI is a newer software package that is web-based.

    thanks,
