DRV5013: Asking for the hall sensor design suggestion

Hi Sir,

My customer would like design hall sensor to meet the below condition to detect the case door open and close for the revised charge case design

Open: 7.2mT

Close: 16mT

DRV5013BC seems suitable one with threshold of 12mT on TI Web but with SOT23 package.

Would you please provide suggestion on suitable one in terms of feature, low profile and low price?

Hi SHH,

For the magnetic field range that you are giving a Unnipolar device would be best in other wors a hall switch, the DRV5013 is a bipolar device, meaning it expects the opposite pole of the magnet to trigger its release point. Since your value given are only positive a Unipolar device like the DRV5032 would be best:

But since we dont have a Unipolar device with the correct threshold for your application a the omnipolar version will work: DRV5032AJ

The range of Brp and Bop is fairly large and needs to be considered in the design, i dont think this device will work for them across temperature with the given threshold specificall for the 7.2mT open case. I would ask your customer why they have settled on this and flexibility in chaging this thresholds to make our sensor work.
