TMP390: Status of /OUTA

Part Number: TMP390

Hi Team,

According to the Electrical Characteristics on page 5 of datasheet, Power Reset Time is 10 ms. During the 10 ms, what's status of OUTA pin?

Beat Regards,
Tom Liu

  • Hi Tom,

The spec on power reset time is where the device spends time to decode the resistor and get the first temperature readout for comparison against the set threshold. During the time of power reset, the output are held inactive. Only, when the first stage of decoding and temp comparison is complete, does the output toggle.

  • Hi Jalen,

What the word 'inactive' mean? High level or low level or high impendence or open drain or other state? Although the OUTA pin may be no functionality during power reset time, but this pin is always being a certain kind of electronic state.

    Beat Regards,
    Tom Liu

  • Tom,

We cannot guarantee operation outside of the recommended supply voltage so. I'm not able to provide more information here.

If the output during POR is of concern, I suggest checking this in your system and accounting for the results in the design.
