Hello Team,
Good day.
My Customer would like to know if the LMT87 part will work for long-distance or not? Do they need an analog front end signal conditioning circuit for LMT87? what is the maximum wire length they can use?
Regards,
Renan

Hi Renan,
LMT87 is specified to source/sink 50uA and a maximum output capacitance of 1100pF. This limits it's ability to drive a lot of cabling, or stabilize voltage level in the face of EMI. I would recommend using a buffer with the sensor. It may be fine for shorter distances without buffer, but I can't estimate a max length.
Can you tell me more about the application? maybe there is another product that fits your needs.
thanks,
