DRV5032: BOP

Part Number: DRV5032

Hi Sir,

Do you know what equipment can measure DRV5032 BOP?

Thanks, Ian.

  • Hi Ian,

Can you please be a little more specific on the request ?

A known magnetic field is required to measure the parameters. As long as a magnet with a known magnetic field is placed in a controlled environment the device can detect the magnetic field and it would trip.

  • Hi Sir,

Customer would like to know how to measure BOP?

What test equipment can measure BOP?

    Thanks, Ian.

  • Ian,

In order to measure BOP, it is necessary to operate with a fixed magnetic field at a specific location.  It is best done by using a Helmholtz Coil driven by an accurate source in conjunction with a precision system for setting the absolute position of the sensor relative to the coil.  When doing this it is critical to use the published location of the sensor internal to the package for best results. The source can be driven to sweep the magnetic field until BOP is triggered.

A less precise method is to use a magnetometer to detect the field component the sensor will detect from a permanent magnet and to place the sensor in the same location.  This requires being able to place the sensor of the magnetometer in the same location as the Hall Sensor and is prone to setup errors.

Another alternative is to find the BOP trip point by moving the magnet near the sensor, and then use an online calculator tool to determine what the field components are at the detected location.
