OPT3101-SDK: calculation formula of coffQ

Part Number: OPT3101-SDK

Hi team,

According to the calibration guide of slau791.pdf, the customer collected the data of illumination crosstalk temperature, and obtained the Q value of 80 ℃ was 25600, and that of 40 ℃ was 23500.

After getting this data, how to calculate illumCrosstalkTempCoff.coffQ. Because the calculated results based on the above data are quite different from the original coefficients in OPT3101-SDK code. So our customer would like to know what the specific formula of this coefficient is?

  • Hi Amy,

I will follow up with you on this by early next week.

  • Hi Amy,

This is a linear fit so the coefficient is the slope of the line. You can see Figure 3. Illumination crosstalk coefficient determination in the document you referenced and the related section. Data for different design can give different coefficients so that may be expected. If this is a custom board the customer should check that the raw crosstalk values are not too high as stated in the documents. Regarding this temperature calibration the customer should check that after applying the I and Q coeffs that the crosstalk drift over temp is not significant to test it is working.
