TMP112-Q1: Pd calculation

Part Number: TMP112-Q1

Hi, staff

What is the allowable loss (Pd) of TMP112-Q1?

I would like to refer to the calculation example.
best regards

  • Hi Cafain,

When we refer to the allowable loss of the TMP112-Q1 we are looking at how much power the IC can dissipate without affecting the temperature accuracy. Any self heating is going to alter temperature, which is why our temperature sensors are designed to have low quiescent current.

When it comes to the question of how much self heating is negligible, that's not something we have characterized and can provide. It is a general rule to keep self heating to a minimum in order to not affect temperature measurements.

I have found this article for reference that talks more on Pd calculations.
