FDC2214: FDC2214 output values

Hi,

I would like to double-check if my understanding of the FDC2214 operation is correct.


My understanding is that for tc0, the number of sensor oscillations on CH0 will be counted.

Assuming that the tc0 is 2ms (set by CH0_RCOUNT) and the sensor frequency is 8MHz (set by L/(total C), what will be the expected number in the DATA_CH1 and DATA_CH0.

Is 2ms *8MHz = 16,000 the number I should expect?

    The DATAx registers are not quite the number of oscillations. You are correct that you should expect 16,000 oscillations based on your example but the DATAx value will be different. The data output is a ratio of the sensor frequency to the reference frequency used. You can use the below equation to determine the expected data value for FDC2214.
