DRV5032: Is it possible to measure magnitude of magnetic flux with DRV5032 switch?

Part Number: DRV5032
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LPSTK-CC1352R, , TMAG5170

Hi,

We are using LPSTK-CC1352R for our applications and we are interested in measuring magnetic flux magnitude with DRV5032. However, we found out that it is a switch. Can it be programmed in some way to measure magnitude of magnetic flux (instead of only having a digital 0/1 output if a threshold is reached or not)?

Thank you in advance and best regards,

Mario

  • Hi Mario,

Thanks for reaching out. I think you are looking for something more programmable like the TMAG5170:

Using this device you will be able to program it to measure magnetic fields  in multiple axis up to +/- 300mT. The DRV5032 is a hall effect switch and will only give you a 0/1 if a threshold is reached as you mention above.
