TMP103: Accuracy (temperature error)

Part Number: TMP103
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMP108, TMP144

Hello team,

I received a question about temperature error of TMP103.

Can you answer the following question?

Looking at the TMP103 data sheet, the resolution is 1 °C,
Ambient temperature is -10 ℃ to 100 ℃, the maximum error is stated as ± 2 ℃.
Ambient temperature of -40 ° C to 125 ° C, the maximum error is stated as ± 3 °C.

■ Question

  1. Does the error in the output value increase as the ambient temperature becomes strict?
  2. Is it possible to reduce the error by calibrating the initial value?

Best regards,

Shotaro

  • Hi Shotaro-san,

The TMP103 accuracy over temperature is shown in Figure 10.

Since the resolution is only 1C, it may not be practical to improve the result with calibration.

What is your accuracy requirement? Have you considered TMP108, or TMP144?

    thanks,

    ren
