FDC1004QEVM: How to adjust the GAIN value to bigger?

Hi,

I use FDC1004QEVM with Sensing Solutions EVM GUI V1.10.0 to test liquid level.

Because my container is only 35 mm, the level changes is little.

I set the GAIN value to 3, and the value is 1.943 pF to 2.564 pF (from empty to full level).

If I want to see the bigger delta, does it have any method to set the GAIN over 3?

Hello,

Thank you for posting.

Section 8.6.5 of the FDC1004 datasheet describes the Gain Calibration Registers in more detail. The gain correction factor can be set in the range of 0 to 4.

Hi Nicole,

But in the GUI, the maximum GAIN which I can set is 3.

I have re-installed the GUI, but it still can't set to 4.

GUI version: V1.10.0

EVM: FDC1004

Hello,

I apologize for the misunderstanding. Your GUI appears to be functioning properly, but it seems that there is a mistake in section 8.6.5 of the datasheet and the range for the gain correction factor is actually 0 to 3. The integer part of GAIN_CALn is only two bits [15:14], therefore the highest gain setting is 3.
