HDC2010: Hdc2010 IP54 standard

Part Number: HDC2010
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: HDC2022

hi:

Hdc2010 is used in IPx4 waterproof structure.

Because it is waterproof, it exists in closed space.

The air enters into the structure through waterproof and breathable membrane (IP54 standard) to detect the temperature and humidity.

From the current test data, the temperature can reach the ambient temperature after one hour, which meets the accuracy requirements.

But after one hour, the humidity can not reach the ambient humidity.

Question:

1. In your understanding of customers, based on the requirement of waterproof grade, do you have temperature and humidity?

2. If so, under normal temperature, the humidity is normal, and it can be stable in a few hours?

3. Can you provide information on the application of temperature and humidity in waterproof products (such as cases, precautions, design avoidance, etc.)

  • Dear Kevin -

IP54 rating is not a waterproof rating. (those are generally accepted as IP66, IP67, and IP68) and the device we offer for that directly is the HDC2022, which has a filter over the sensor cavity and is rated for IP67.

That detail aside - the sensor will read the temperature and %RH that it is exposed to. If you have sealed up the unit, (perhaps beyond IP54?), then the humidity environment inside the enclosure may never balance with the ambient, its hard to really comment more without knowing the enclosure details.
