HDC2080: DRDY_STATUS

Hi Team,

My customer is evaluating HDC2080 and has a question about Figure 3-1.
https://www.tij.co.jp/jp/lit/ug/snau250/snau250.pdf

1)
He found DRDY_STATUS does not assert "1" even if he set 1300us (blue line) wait time under Ta=-20℃ condition.
He uses 14 bit resolution in this case.
Is it a possible case?
If the answer is yes, how long should he wait until DRDY_STATUS asserts?

2)
Could you tell me what does "optional (red line)" indicate?
Does it indicate not mandatory?

Best Regards,
Yaita

  • Hi Yaita,

Could I please know the operating voltage of the humidity sensor?

    1. The 1300us is just a typical value and we cannot guarantee a max and min value for that spec. The customer can try adding a few more micro seconds (100 - 1000 us) wait time and check if the DRDY_STATUS bit is asserted to 1.

    2. The read register step is just an indication if the temperature and humidity conversions have been completed. This step is not mandatory. However, if you attempt to read the registers before checking this bit and not waiting long enough, it might give you incorrect data.

  • Hi Pavani-san,

    Thank you for your support.
    I understand.

My customer uses 3.3V power supply.
