We are having some testing issues with our TMP461-SP device. Debugging has lead me to need to know how the D- pin is connected in the device and if there is any ESD protection devices on it.

What is D- connected to in the device and how is it used to measure the temp at the exterior diode?
The D- pin is essentially grounded inside the device. You can actually use the TMP46x devices without using DXN at all (see this thread for confirmation).
Are there ESD protection diodes on the D- pin?
I am checking on this and I will update you as soon as I have an answer. I suspect that there is not any ESD protection given that this pin is almost ground, but I will confirm.
