IWR6843AOPEVM

Making a connection with the device via the cloud on the page and drawing a "plot" graph of the radar data is an important development and testing phase. We used this link a lot in the iwr1443 and awr1642 modules we used before, and we could get the range-db graph with a continuous data exchange.
However, in the iwr6843 aop evm module, it takes minutes to make the first connection, and then the data update is not done in a way and the plot-chart is not updated, in short, there is no continuity of data exchange (even after the first data, we can say that it does not go), so the development phase cannot be done.
The module overheats, no warming of these sizes was observed in the previously used modules named iwr1443 and Awr1642.

note: the firms we use are demo firms provided by ti.

After i have this problem tistore has deactivated all this items stock . İ think thats the reason of this product . i have also a case because of this problem but none accepted the return of nonworking product.

i want to get a new version of this item and send back or get credit for this item.

Can you please help clarify items below:

1. iwr6843 aop that you have takes few minutes to connect- does it mean the board connects but doesnt send data out.

2.Unable to understand the below statement, please provide more information

Please clarify if the EVM/ is not working at all or are the failure intermittent.

Have you tried to use the AOP EVM with mmWaveICBOOST board. THis will provide more space for thermal dissipation

What is the chirp dutycyle use on the device.

i dont know because that was mky customers problem .

as they said it is failing when sometimes connected and they said texas has a new version because of this reason. and they want to give it back and buy a new one of new version.

Did you get them back from stock because of so many problem report and present a new version?

In addition, the path below is a GUI application that works with matlab Runtime. In my observations here, it seems as if the two problems we mentioned (which are already communicating with each other) prove the 2nd item;

1- We cannot connect to mmWave_Demo_Visualizer. Although we connect 1-2 times a day with very intense effort;
2- We can say that data exchange is interrupted, almost never.

When run with the proper configuration, the data from the debug output gets corrupted and the expected and displayed data don't match.

sorry i cant my customer doesnt share pic. of config or project. is it possible to get credit for item. it is not working and they want to giv it back.

Hi,

The Rev.F is the latest version of the EVM and it has not been discontinued as you stated in your previous post. This device is still being sold. What region are you buying from?

On The IWR6843AOP we used a different USB to UART, the CP2015. This may be why you are dropping packets although we are not aware of this issue.

The EVM warms up due to the size of the board. The iwr1443 and Awr1642 EVMS are much larger board with a different IC package. We have an appnote discussing the thermal dissipation on the AOPEVM

Lastly, Did you press the "SEND CONFIG TO MMWAVE DEVICE" button in the configure Tab? The data COM port shows a green connected status only after the demo firmware starts sending point cloud output, for which you need to send the input configuration using the "SEND CONFIG..." button.
