TIDEP-01023: capon beamforming questions

Part Number: TIDEP-01023

As is said in TIDEP-01023, "the spacial covariance matrix is estimated as an average over the chirps in the frame" .

Hi, I have several questions about capon beamforming.

1)   Why the spacial matrix uses the sample points of multiple chirps ,  but NOT the sample points of several range bins  in one chirp ?

2)  Using the sample points of multiple chirps might cause the problem of coherent signals  which would decrease the rank

of signal  covariance matrix  Rs (NOT sample covariance matrix)  then degrade the performance of  the Capon and MUSIC-like  DOA algorithms and so on.

Please help to explain it for me.

Thanks.
