Design, Reliability and Radiation Hardness Information on LM135 Temperature Sensor

Jet Propulsion Laboratory is considering use of the LM135 temperature sensor in a space application.  Is Texas Instruments planning to offer a hermetic package version to a high reliability specification such as MIL-STD-883 or DLA 5962?  National Radiation Owners Manual (page 44 - Analog Parts section) states that these parts are good to 50Krads.  Is there a radiation test report available and can I have it?

  • The data shown for the LM135 in the Radiation Owners Manual was for product produced in National's Santa Clara wafer fab.  That fab has since closed.   Our initial TID tests on the LM135 produced in the current fab have not been encouraging.  The are currently no plans for a mil or space version of the product.
