AWR1642: Loopback calibration in radar studio

Hi All,

Customer want to loopback TX-RX on AWR1642 for data calibration. 

From this post http://e2e.ti.com/support/sensor/mmwave_sensors/f/1023/p/610582/2256425 , it said only external loopback is supported in radar studio.

But i also see internal loopback can be used for NF calibration in this post http://e2e.ti.com/support/sensor/mmwave_sensors/f/1023/p/647369/2381346 

Could you please tell me what we should do for loopback calibration using radar studio?

    Hi Allen,

    I know that only external loop-back is supported and would be a better recommendation for your customer based on Apps support alone.

    Why is your customer looking at Internal loop-back? Could you talk about your application a little bit more?

    I will have to ask AWR team if support for Internal loop-back has changed, especially on the heels of the new SDK1.1.

    Hi Allen,

    We support 3 loop back options

    1. PA loopback
    2. PS (phase shifter) loopback
    3. IF loopback

    The details of each one of these is given in ICD. Please refer to following sections AWR_RF_PALOOPBACK_CFG_SB, AWR_RF_PSLOOPBACK_CFG_SB and AWR_RF_IFLOOPBACK_CFG_SB. You can enabled one of the loopback paths in at a time. Please issue the loop back command after Profile configuration and before triggering the frames.
