LM95245: Not use remote sensor

Part Number: LM95245

Hi,

I have a HW design question about LM95245.

I plan to use LM95245 internal temperature sensor but not use remote (diode) sensor.

How should I do for these D+ and D- remote sensor pin?

Just keep open(floating) or pull up/down?

  • Hi Harry,
If the remote channel won't be used you can keep the terminals floating, however due to the diode fault detection scheme present in the part, as described in the data sheet, if D+ detected as shorted to GND, VDD or D+ is floating, the Remote Temperature reading is –128.000 °C if signed format is selected and +255.875 °C if unsigned format is selected In addition, the Status Register 1 bit D2 is set.
As long as you ignore these conditions, should be ok.
However why not selecting a local temp sensor for your application? you can browse our large portfolio at:

  • Dear Jose

    Thank's reply

I just use current production product and warehouse stock LM95245 for my new design.
