AWR1642: RPRC Image format

Hi champion,
My customer is studying AWR1642 bin format to develop their second boot loader. They analyzed the bin file xwr16xx_mmw_demo.bin under C:\ti\mmwave_sdk_01_01_00_02\packages\ti\demo\xwr16xx\mmw and have some questions about the RPRC header.
In Image creator user guide, we find the EPRC header and section header format as below figure.

In the content of xwr16xx_mmw_demo.bin, you can find the RPRC header for 0x00000080. The RPRC header is 24 bytes, and there is section 1 header from 0x00000098, but the content of this header is zeros for section start address and section size. Customer is confused with it. Could you help to check?

Hi,

The RPRC Header format is not specific to XWR devices. It is also used for Sitara devices.

Please search the e2e community for additional threads on this topic.

Thanks. I know it is common for our processor, but I could not find the detailed description which can explain the data format confusion from the customer.
Could you contact the designer to see what is explanaiton of these fields in the file?

Hi Adam,

The RPRC section header is also 24 bytes long. (Not explicit in the RPRC format above)

So, it is 8 bytes of section start address, 4 bytes of section length, 12 bytes reserved.

In the above image,
section1 Start Addr = 0x0
Section1 Length = 0x3C
