TIDA-01570: TIDA-01570

Hi there!

I am planning to add a front radar system in an industrial machine which drive on rails. The point is to activate the breaking system if the radar detects  someone in the machine's trajectory.

I saw that TI got some several radar sensor solutions. One of my questions is if should I use the TIDA-01570 automotive kit PCB, or TIDEP-0092. Which are the diferences in between? 

One we know which kit to use, We would know the CAN messages to integrate in our electronic control system and be able to activate the brakes.

Please, hep me with the decision of the platform and give me informatión of how interpret the CAN messages.

    Hi,

    You should look at TIDA-01570 because it exposes the CAN interface. However this is a hw design. There is still a sw application needed.

    Do you plan to develop the sw?

    I understand that the CAN is exposed through the CAN visualizer. that I have seen in the TIDA-01570 manual. Is like that?

    Yes we need a sw..  I guess there is a config sw for the TIDA-01570.   Is there any SDK for the TIDA-01570?

    Hi,

    Today, there is no SW for the TIDA-01570. Also, the board described in TIDA-01570 is not available for purchase. You would have to develop your own board.

    Since you also need the SW, I recommend that you use TIDEP-0092. This design is based on a board that can be purchased on ti.com and it comes with SW demo and SDK support.

    You should start the evaluation using TIDEP-0092.

    I saw the gerber files for the TIDA- TIDA-01570, so I guess I could make the PCB if is not available..

    Is it possible to see the can messages in the TIDEP-0092?

    Hi

    In TIDEP-0092, the point cloud data is sent to the host via UART (RS232) transmission.

    The design is using the AWR1642BOOST EVM (www.ti.com/.../AWR1642BOOST) which is available for purchase today.

    So, you could start the evaluation today with this setup.

    Hi Cesar,

    the TIDA option fits better with my system due to it communicates in CAN, too.

    In RS232 will be a bit problem.. When will be available the TIDA PCB?? I case of long time waiting.. I already have the TIDA Gerber files, so May be could I fabricate the PCB.. How do you think about?

    Hi

    Can  TIDA-01570 be connected with mmWave Development Pack and TSW1400EVM to capture the LVDS RAW data?

    How about to use the TSW1400EVM SDK to do with it?

    I have noticed that it also has a 60-pins connector with the LVDS interface, which is same with AWR1642BOOST .
