TMP461: Should D+ and D- should be connected to GND or Connected to each other when Remote Sensor NOT used in TMP461 ?

Part Number: TMP461

Hi Team,

Can you confirm which one of the below two statements in datasheet are correct when remote sensor is not  being used in remote sensing?

Page 13:

When not using the remote sensor with the TMP461 device, the D+ and D– inputs must be connected together

to prevent meaningless fault warnings

Page 23:

The TMP461 device requires only a transistor connected between the D+ and D– pins for remote temperature

measurement. Tie the D+ pin to GND if the remote channel is not used and only the local temperature is

measured.

Regards,

Praveen
