LM75B: O.S. Feature

Part Number: LM75B
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMP75, TMP75B

Hi team,

If I don't plan on using the O.S. feature on the LM75B, can I leave the pin floating? Also, would you recommend a different part if I wasn't going to use the O.S. feature?

Thanks,

Arthur Huang

  • Hi Arthur,

Yes, the OS pin (known as ALERT on similar devices) can be left floating or grounded. It should never be connected to supply.

All of these products have an ALERT output. I would recommend TMP75 or TMP75B over the LM75B. These products have lower price, lower current consumption, and better accuracy. They're all pin and software compatible. If you have other parameters you're interested in, I could recommend other products.

    Thanks,
    Ren
  • Thanks Ren,
